What is a Breeding Pair?

A dog breeding pair is a matched male (stud) and female (dam) selected by a breeder to produce a litter. At Top of the Top Mastiffs, pairs are chosen based on health testing, temperament, structure, pedigree, and genetic compatibility— as well as (not solely) looks or color.

Why Pair Selection Matters

• Health: Reduces risk of hereditary conditions through testing and smart genetics.
• Temperament: Supports stable, family-friendly behavior by pairing complementary personalities.
• Structure (Conformation): Improves soundness and longevity (hips, elbows, spine, bite, gait).
• Purpose: Aligns puppies with the program’s goals—companions, guardians, sport, or show.
• Predictability: Increases consistency in size, coat, and working ability across a litter.

Pairs of top quality mastiff are subject to availability & may vary depending on timing of litters due dates.

Breeding pairs typically consists of a solid color dog & a Merle patterned dog. Genders may vary depending on what you’re looking for.

Breeding pairs range from 8,000 USD - 15,000 USD.

All breeding pairs come with ICA breeding rights papers as well as health, breed breakdown, trait & color testing via embark.
